Flue and Liner Repair

Flue and Liner Repair

What You Need to Know

A damaged flue or lining can be both hazardous, causing fire, structural concerns, as well as draft issues, and it is generally inefficient. Relining, resurfacing, parging, and PCR are the most common repairs, and we’re sharing our learnings and insights below as to how they work.

Relining:
Inserting a stainless steel liner inside of your chimney. This liner assures that no hazardous gases leak into your house, increases draft efficiency, and contains any potential chimney fire.

Ceramic Restoration: Coating the entire inside of your chimneys terra cotta liner with high-temperature cement. This process assures no hazardous gases leak into your house and contains any potential chimney fire.*This is a solution when your chimney is missing mortar joints in between terra cotta blocks and or has cracks in the terra cotta blocks.

Parging: The application of high-temperature cement throughout your smoke chamber. The smoke chamber is the section of your chimney in between the firebox and the flue.

PCR: The application of high-temperature cement throughout your smoke chamber. The smoke chamber is the section of your chimney in between the firebox and the flue.

First Steps: Schedule Inspection for Repair

Our team will thoroughly inspect and write a report onsite, identifying any problems and aspects of your chimney with a video camera (level 2) before issuing any estimates. The process takes about 45 minutes to 1.5 hours.

The report includes pictures of your chimney identifying the issues and how to fix them, as well as diagrams and illustrations of the chimney’s composition so that you will better understand how they work and how they are constructed. For your awareness, this service is $162. We will then credit you back the $162 toward any work completed with our company beyond the standard chimney cleaning.

We do this so we can warranty your chimney repairs. Please feel free to reference our reviews to hear of our great successes in resolving issues for our clients.
